Course description |
These seminars will cover a range of issues in contemporary philosophy of religion. Topics that we will cover include: The problem of evil, the nature of religious language, Wittgenstein and religion, religious realism, Plantinga and basic beliefs. We will look at issues connected with the idea of God, including the concepts of eternity, omnipotence and omniscience; also at the question of reason and faith, and the relation of religion to morality. |

Pre-requisites |
Visiting students should have at least 3 Philosophy courses at grade B or above (or be predicted to obtain this). We will only consider University/College level courses. |

Assessment Information
Assessment will be by 2-hour examination in the May diet.
Senior Honours students may opt to write a long essay (approximately 5000 words) in lieu of the final exam.
Visiting Student Variant Assessment
