    Depending on individual student timetables, Innovation and Enterprise for Scientists and Engineers 1 (MAEE08003, 20 Credits) may be taken in year 1. For students to take Marketing (BUST08004, 20 Credits) in year 2, they must take Business Studies 1 (BUST08001, 40 credits) in year 1. Students who gain a pass in Marketing are qualified to study a greater range of course options in years 4 and 5 than those students who have not done so.

    Notes:For students entering Year 2 of the degree programme directly (known as entry with Advanced Standing), Chemistry 2X (CHEM08018) is strongly recommended. Chemistry 2X is compulsory for students transferring into Year 2 of the degree programme with a pass in Biological Chemistry 1B (CHEM08023). Depending on entry qualifications, students may also require to take mathematics courses.
    It is recommended that at least 20 points of courses be taken from courses within the College of Science and Engineering and it is STRONGLY RECOMMENDED that students on this degree programme take Materials Chemistry 2 (CHEM08021).
