    Notes: No Previous knowledge of Portuguese in necessary; a pass in a modern foreign language or a classical language at SCE Higher grade or equivalent evidence of linguistic proficiency in normally required.
    Politics and Institutions of Contemporary France is only available to students who have passed French 1A or French 1B.
    Scandinavian Languages 2 is available to students who have taken a Scandinavian Studies language in year one.
    For Linguistics 2Lh students must have passed: English Language 1 or Linguistics 1A or Linguistics 1B.
     

    Year 3, Academic year 2010/11, Starting month: August

  • Notes: Entry into Honours normally requires (i) passes in all six subjects taken in the first two years, and (ii) a mark of 50% or above at the first attempt in the second year of the relevant Modern European Language.
    (iii) Students who have passed courses to the required value of 240 credits, and achieved marks of 50% or more at the first attempt in all required second-year coruses for their registered degree, are automatically entitled to progress to honours. Students who are planning on spending their Junior Year Abroad must successfully progress to honours before they can proceed on their JYA.

    At least 30 weeks spent in the relevant country and prescribed work in Politics and the relevant language in an approved establishment.
