This course is designed to allow students to develop an understanding of methods of information gathering and the collection of visual resources that underpin individual practice and are appropriate to the disciplines within Fine Art practice

Aims of course
1 To engage in specialist research in relation to Fine Art practice.
2 To develop methodologies of research through studio practice.
3 To test materials and processes to gain knowledge towards the visuaisation of ideas.

Pre-requisites Students MUST have passed: MAFA Research 1 (ARTX07001) AND MAFA Studio 1 (ARTX07002)
Co-requisites Students MUST also take: MAFA Studio 2 (ARTX08014)

On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
1. COLLECTION by demonstrating an ability to locate and collate visual information from one or more direct sources.
2. EVALUATION of visual information and the synthesis of ideas through drawing and relevant processes.
3. COMMUNICATION by the identification and testing of appropriate methods to disseminate ideas.
