To complete and present a body of research and drawing that is creatively informed, innovative and critically aware and contributes to an underpinning of visual thinking in studio practice.

Aims of course
1 To demonstrate an individual body of developed research. drawing and visual thinking that relates to studio practice.
2 To identify a personal approach to sourcing and developing research material employing an appropriate range of approaches.
3 To articulate a visual language through the development and presentation of research. drawing and visual thinking.

Mode of delivery
Desk-Based Research, Group Crit, Project Space, Tutorials, Presentations, Exhibitions, Seminar.

Pre-requisites Co-requisites Students MUST also take: Studio 4 (Sculpture) (ARTX10005) AND Professional Practice 4 (Sculpture) (ARTX10007) AND Art 4: Extended Research Project (ARTX10018)

On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
1. INITIATE Develop a personal approach to sourcing and developing research material employing an appropriate range of methodologies.
2. EVALUATE Evidence the underpinning of individual research approaches in the development of studio work.
3. COMMUNICATE Demonstrate originality and professionalism in the development and presentation of individual research, drawing and visual thinking.
