Course description | The aim of this course is to explore some of the complexity of gastrointestinal nursing. The course aims also to provide students with a sound understanding of the application of biological and social science principles to areas of clinical practice. |

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
The learning outcomes are designed to provide students with learning opportunities such that on completion of the course and associated personal study they will be able to:
1.demonstrate understanding of anatomy and physiology applied to gastrointestinal nursing in the clinical setting
2.demonstrate the relevance of homeostasis and homeostatic mechanisms in gastroenterology
3.integrate the knowledge and understanding of the identified biological systems to the clinical reality of health and illness.
4.understand the rationale for investigative and therapeutic procedures in gastroenterology |
