Course descriptionThis half course will be concerned with the role and purpose of marketing, sponsorship, and event management in sporting and recreation organisations. Indicative content will include: an understanding of marketing and marketing plans; the role of sponsorship and developing sponsorship proposals; and the management of events in sport.
Entry Requirements (not applicable to Visiting Students)
Pre-requisites Students MUST have passed: Sport and Recreation: Introduction to Management 1A (SPRT08008) AND Sport and Recreation: Organisational Behaviour and Financial Management 1B (SPRT08009)

Demonstrate an understanding of key marketing concepts and how they apply to a range of sports and recreation services; Explain the importance of sponsorship to sporting and recreation organisations and to understand the interdependence of the parties involved in the sponsorship partnership; To understand the processes involved in the management of events in sporting and recreation organisations; Application of marketing and sponsorship principles and strategies
