Course description | This course is only available to ECA students on degree programmes belonging to the School of Art.
This course develops the content, language, methods and production of a self initiated body of work in the context of your specialism. You will be inducted in different approaches of practice related to your specialism through workshops, inductions, seminars and critiques. Through a series of projects this course will enable you to establish a personally motivated approach to your work and an understanding of the key concepts and historical and contemporary references in the context of current art practice.
Aims
1. To explore the methods and language of your specialism.
2. To apply an appropriate range of processes to produce a developed body of work.
3. To develop a personal language and an awareness of historical and contemporary contexts.

On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
1. You will be assessed against three Learning Outcomes and all are equally weighted:
Concepts: Define a considered range of ideas for exploration.
2. Methods: Demonstrate an ability to explore concepts through the use of appropriate methods processes and materials.
3. Outcomes: Realize appropriate resolutions through development of concepts. |
Assessment Information
You will be formatively evaluated at mid session review point at the end of the first semester and summatively assessed at the end of Semester 2.
For this you will require: Documented work that you have made since your last summative evaluation in May of the proceeding academic session. We would expect that some of this would be installed or presented in a manner appropriate for the works context (project space/ outside exhibition) This should include no more than 20 images video not exceeding 10 min /and or sound work not exceeding 10 min.
