SummaryIndicative course content
This module introduces to the concepts and methods of presenting personal work in a professional situation.

Aims of course
1 To introduce concepts and processes of Professional Practice within the context of Intermedia Art.
2 To encourage an understanding of Contemporary Art Practice, and to introduce an ability to place personal work in this context.
3 To test practical methods of showing work in individual and group situations.

Mode of delivery
Project Presentation Cross Year Critique Installation Tutorial Guest Speaker
Course description Introduce presentation and dissemination of artistic work.

Mixture of one-to-one group presentations and workshops.
Entry Requirements (not applicable to Visiting Students)
Pre-requisites Students MUST have passed: Research 1 (Art) (ARTX07004)
Co-requisites Students MUST also take: ( Intermedia practice 2 (ARTX08022) AND Intermedia Research 2 (ARTX08023) AND Art 2: Postmodernism and After (ARTX08025))
Prohibited Combinations Other requirements This course is only available to ECA students on degree programmes belonging to the School of Art.

Direct Entry students to Year 2 must have Recognised Prior Learning equivalent to 120 credits.
Additional Costs ECA students are required to pay for the cost of materials used throughout their programme of study.

Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
  1. Demonstrate an ability to present a coherent written statement relating personal ideas and practice within a contemporary art context.
  2. Document work in a variety of different spaces both in individual and group situations to demonstrate a basic understanding of the significance of issues surrounding siting of work and audience.
  3. Present a proposal for an intervention/installation/exhibition. Clearly identifying the significance of the work to the site and anticipated audience.
