Learning Outcomes 
| By the end of the course, students will have: - identified and critically examined some of the political dimensions found within the literature of the Hebrew Bible/Old Testament;
 - developed an understanding of the varying forms of biblical interpretation;
 - engaged in a comparative analysis of political institutions and actions in both biblical tradition and contemporary culture;
 
 and be able to:
 - offer independent, critical analysis of texts from the Hebrew Bible/Old Testament in relation to political themes;
 - apply a variety methodologies in their interpretation of a wide range of Hebrew Bible/Old Testament texts;
 - integrate study of the politics of the Hebrew Bible/Old Testament with other historical, ethical, and theological disciplines;
 - demonstrate an ability to identify key terms and their meanings; and
 - demonstrate good judgement about how to judge the relative importance of items on course bibliographies.
