SummaryThe aim of this course is to teach the student the aetiology, diagnosis and management of the more complex inherited and acquired dental conditions affecting children and adolescents
Course description Dental anomalies affecting the young permanent dentition can leave children with less than ideal aesthetics. The management of such anomalies is usually multidisciplinary. In this course the students learn about such anomalies and their management and how to liaise with colleagues to achieve the best result for their patient.

Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
  1. List the developmental dental anomalies affecting the enamel and dentine
  2. Discuss the aetiology, diagnosis and management of developmental anomalies of tooth structure in the child and adolescent
  3. Explain the aetiology, diagnosis and management of non carious tooth surface loss
  4. Describe the aetiology, diagnosis and management of discoloured teeth and the legal issues affecting management
  5. Select the appropriate restorative material and technique for each individual condition in the clinical setting
