SummaryThis module is designed to provide a critical review of the interpersonal interactions that are central to all teachers but in particular to those working in support, consultancy and advisory roles, for example, in guidance or support for learning. Course members will explore the concepts and practice of consultancy and collaboration involved in enabling change and the specific skills and attitudes required to apply these concepts within their own professional spheres.

Learning Outcomes
By the end of the module course members should be able to:
1. Be critically aware of the theoretical principles, processes and conditions underpinning interpersonal skills within education;
2. Be aware of leadership roles within the class, within teams of colleagues and across the school;
3. Analyse critically consultative and collaborative approaches and the process of change in education;
4. Apply this analysis through practising and reviewing a range of skills that are intrinsic to humanistic interpersonal relationships, in an educational context;
5. Develop and evaluate their strategies for working in partnership with students, colleagues, parents and other professionals as part of their professional role;
6. Use research and literature critically in linking practice to theory.
