| Summary | Students will read one collection of short stories per month. They will consider the history and development of the form, as well as stylistic and structural strategies. On individual critical responses they will respond to each text and, in autonomous learning groups, further discuss the work in the light of their own process. The emphasis on this course is reading as a writer. Students will submit two sample critical responses (each circa 500 words) at intervals throughout the year and, at the end of the year, an essay of 3000 words, based on reading, personal reflection and practice. |
