SummaryThe course covers the organization of language above the sentence-level. Classes and assignments will include analysis of naturally occurring data as well as evaluation of various analytical frameworks. Domains covered include cross-sentence discourse phenomena such as coreference, ellipsis, and information structure, as well as the analysis of these phenomena within models of discourse coherence, cooperative communication, and the psycholinguistics of comprehension and production.
