By the end of the course students should be able to:-
o Understand the need for financial awareness and expertise
o Understand the purpose of the main areas of financial advice for companies and individuals
o Demonstrate an understanding of the global economic environment
o Explain and discuss the various forms of financial services available for clients: deposit-based, fixed interest and equity investments
o Explain and discuss the various forms of financial services available for clients: collective investment, insurance for protection and life assurance, derivatives
o Explain and discuss the various forms of financial services available for clients: mortgages
o Understand loan finance
o Explain and discuss the various forms of financial services available for clients: pensions
o Understand the process of giving financial advice to companies and individuals: tax elements
o Understand the principles a set of company accounts
o Demonstrate an ability to and practice of tax planning as it relates to private clients

o Analyze and understand compare sets of accounts by using ratios
