Year 1, Academic year 2016/17, Starting month: September

  • Notes: PLEASE NOTE: Year 1 of the Electrical Engineering (MEng) (code UTELENG) will not run from the start of 2014/15. STUDENTS MAY NOT BE ADMITTED TO YEAR 1 OF THIS PROGRAMME as of the end of 2013/14.



  • Year 2, Academic year 2016/17, Starting month: August

  • Notes: PLEASE NOTE: Year 2 of the Electrical Engineering (MEng) (code UTELENG) will not run from the start of 2015/16. STUDENTS MAY NOT BE ADMITTED TO YEAR 2 OF THIS PROGRAMME as of the end of 2014/15.



  • Year 3, Academic year 2016/17, Starting month: August

  • Notes: Progression to Year 3 normally requires passes in at least 100 credit points worth of courses in Year 2. The 100 credit points passed must be from the list of courses given in Year 2 of the Degree Programme Table (DPT) of the student's chosen degree programme.

    In addition, entry to Year 3 is normally only permitted if the following pre-requisite courses are passed:

    - ELEE08016: Analogue Circuits 2
    - ELEE08015: Digital System Design 2
    - SCEE08008: Power Engineering 2
    - ELEE08020: Microelectronics 2
    - ELEE08014: Electronics Project Laboratory 2A, or ELEE08019: Electronics Project Laboratory 2B.



  • Year 4, Academic year 2016/17, Starting month: August

  • Notes: 1. Entry to Year 4 MEng normally requires an average mark of 55% in third year, at the first attempt.
    2. Progression to Year 4 normally requires passes in at least 100 credit points worth of courses, including "Resit for Professional Purposes", AND an average of 40% across all courses. See the School Handbook for full details.
    3. Entry to the 4th year normally requires two or more prior years of instruction in a UK institution, or satisfactory completion of English language training as indicated by a TEAM test.
