SummaryThe Honours Dissertation takes the form of an extended piece of work which is a research proposal in an area of nursing practice. Consistent with the aims of a research led degree, the honours dissertation seeks to demonstrate the ability of the students to independently present a research proposal in an area of nursing practice with the appropriate level of critical appraisal and knowledge of research and enquiry in the discipline of nursing.

Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
  1. Demonstrate the ability to produce a clearly structured research proposal.
  2. Demonstrate the ability to review and produce a critical analysis of the relevant literature and research in the area of your chosen topic.
  3. Demonstrate an awareness of the ethical issues which may arise in the course undertaking research.
  4. Discuss analytically the potential implications of your proposed research for nursing practice.
  5. Gain experience in producing a sustained argument and writing a substantial piece of work.
