|Summary||The Scope of Literature: the study of a range of literature written between 1700 and 1850, with an emphasis on 1) literary kinds, movements and contexts, and 2) a variety of claims regarding literature's capacities and limits.

|Pre-requisites||Visiting students should usually have at least 1 introductory level English Literature course at grade B or above (or be predicted to obtain this) for entry to this course. We will only consider University/College level courses.
