Notes:
Entry requirements:
for French 1A: a pass in French at National 5 (SQA) or GCSE
for French 1B: a pass in French at Higher (SQA), A-level or equivalent
Entrants with SQA qualifications should hold at least a 'B' pass

Year 2 Academic year: 2018/19, Starting in: August

Notes:
Entry to Honours normally requires the following:
(1) a mark of 50 or above at the first attempt in the Year 2 language course - Chinese 2A or Chinese 2C, as appropriate;
(2) a mark of 50 or above in the degree exam held in the April/May diet for the Year 2 language course - Chinese 2A or Chinese 2C, as appropriate;
(3) a mark of 50 or above at the first attempt in Chinese 2B;
(4) a mark of 50 or above at the first attempt in French 2 Language;
(5) a mark of 50 or above at the first attempt in French 2 Literature and Culture;
(6) credits awarded to the value of 240 in the first two years.

Notes:
During 3rd year: at least 30 weeks of approved residence is required in the relevant countries. The minimum period of residence in the country of either language is eight consecutive weeks.

One unit of assessment is allocated to every 20 credits and constitutes one 20-credit paper. The following are the twelve 20-credit papers on which the classification of the degree is based. Papers that for the purposes of degree classification acquire a weighting of 40 credits are, therefore, listed twice.
