SummaryThis course is intended for students on one of the Honours Programmes in 'Modern Foreign Languages and Linguistics or English Language' who are not able to return suitable marks for courses studied while abroad.
Course description Students write an 8,000-word long essay on a topic which is relevant to their degree programme. The topic of the essay should be agreed with the Course Organiser before students begin their third year of studies and the essay should be written during the third year, while abroad. Students will be assigned a supervisor at Edinburgh and will be expected to remain in contact with their supervisor during the year, typically by email. The deadline for submission of the essay will normally be the Monday of Week 3 of the first semester of the students' fourth year of study.
