Summary | This course is intended for students on one of the Honours Programmes in 'Modern European Languages and Linguistics or English Language'.
Students are required to take courses in Linguistics or English Language at a University in the appropriate country while they are abroad during their third year of study. These courses must be approved by the Head of Linguistics and English Language or their representative.
The marks for these courses will be converted to the Edinburgh marking scheme to provide a mark for this course. |

The set of courses that a student can study to provide marks for this course will be discussed and agreed with the member of staff responsible for students abroad in LEL (the course organiser for this course).

Courses must be taken at the host institution totalling 20 ECTS credits (= 40 Edinburgh credits). The marks gained while abroad will be converted to marks on the Edinburgh scale. The course organiser will convene a small group every year, during semester 1, to convert the marks received while abroad at a University in the appropriate country to the Edinburgh marking scheme; unless there are compelling reasons to the contrary, the conversion will normally be done using the conversion factors as used in DELC. |
