Final Assessment Weighting:
One unit of assessment is allocated to every 20 credits and constitutes one 20-credit paper. The following are the twelve 20-credit papers on which the classification of the degree is based. (Papers that for the purposes of degree classification acquire a weighting of 40 credits are, therefore, listed twice.)
With Persian study abroad in 3rd year:

3. Advanced Persian
4. Advanced Persian
5. Advanced Persian
6. Arabic Oral
7. Arabic Coursework Essay or Persian Coursework Essay
8. IMES Dissertation Part 1 (same mark as 9)
9. IMES Dissertation Part 2
10. IMES Honours Option (Arabic Language)
11. IMES Honours Option (Persian Language)
12. IMES Honours Option
Without Persian study abroad in 3rd year, two Advanced Persian papers are replaced by Intensive Persian (40 credits); and the Arabic Coursework Essay is compulsory. (NB This option is only available to students when study in a Persian-speaking country or institution is not permitted.)
Arabic Coursework Essay, Persian Coursework Essay, IMES Long Essay, and any dissertation courses are only available for selection if they are listed in the degree programme's final assessment.
