SummaryThis course is intended for first year students who will work as interns with peers across different year groups and work collectively towards a common objective regardless of experience. They will have the ability to apply to an established in-house student graphic design agency. These agencies, mentored by industry professionals will respond to briefs and self-initiated projects. Students will also be guided through the principles and practice behind the world of the graphic design agency. The student agencies experience work-like scenarios within the safety of the academic environment, developing rounded, real world skill sets, such as design thinking, risk-taking, selling, presenting, delegating and networking.
Course description This course asks the question 'What is a graphic design agency?' Through practical projects and collaboration with peers in senior years, students will begin to understand the guiding principles and practice of a commercial design agency. Through the production of a reflective journal students will learn to disseminate their ideas and make initial decisions about their practice, context and career path.

On this course students will be expected to gain a broad knowledge of the discipline and implement basic skills, techniques, practices and/or materials associated with the subject. They will discover that innovation can occur through collaborations, connections and relationships with others. Students will take account of their own and others roles and responsibilities in carrying out tasks and will learn new methods of working - relevant to whatever field they subsequently choose. Essentially, students undertaking the course gain valuable employability attributes and essential personal, professional and transferable skills.

This Course will comprise multiple tasks and projects. The indicative course structure is outlined on LEARN.
