SummaryEngineering is based on a number of core principles that are employed to explore problems, and design solutions. This course is designed for students entering an Engineering degree in year 2. The course covers core engineering principles in interdisciplinary team-based design problems, incorporating communication, professional ethics, sustainability and safety. Students will develop team work, research, communication, critical thinking and self-learning skills.
Course description The course comprises the following topics:

- The Engineering context
- Core Engineering Principles
- Exploring problems with engineering skills
- The Engineering design cycle
- Engineering Challenges

Pre-requisites Co-requisites
Prohibited Combinations Students MUST NOT also be taking Engineering Principles 1 (SCEE08012) AND Engineering Design 1 (SCEE08011)
Other requirements This course is only available to 2nd year direct entrants to School of Engineering programmes.
