Level 7 and 8 courses in Schedules A to Q, S, T, W and Y

Notes:
Students opting for the School of Mathematics maths courses are strongly advised to take Proofs and Problem Solving (MATH08059) as part of their 40 credits of options.

Year 2 Academic year: 2021/22, Starting in: August

Notes:
Progression to second year requires passes in all first year specified compulsory courses or, for Direct Entry, award of 120 credits by prior learning. This is in addition to the general progression requirement.

Physics and Astronomy, Pre-honours 2, Core Physics Courses

Select between 10 and 20 credits of the following courses
Notes:
Direct Entry (PoE2) students must take 'Classical and Modern Physics'. Continuing students should take 'Modern Physics'.
A pass in one of these courses is compulsory for progression to Year 3.
AND

Theoretical Physics, Year 2, Core Maths Options

Select between 10 and 20 credits of the following courses
Notes:
Direct Entry (PoE2) students must take 'Algebra and Calculus'.

Continuing students who have taken 'Mathematics for Physics 1+2' in first year should normally follow 'Linear Algebra and Several Variable Calculus'. 'Several Variable Calculus and Differential Equations' may be taken by continuing students who have taken the School of Mathematics courses in first year.

A pass in one of these courses is compulsory for progression to Year 3.
AND

Level 7 and 8 courses in Schedules A to Q, S, T, W and Y

Select between 20 and 40 credits from Level 7 and 8 courses in Schedules A to Q, S, T, W and Y
