Students will be allocated to groups to work through topics. The group will agree a final document and the work submitted will be assessed as a group.

Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Understand the theoretical framework underpinning current practice in managing a hospital department (knowledge and understanding
- Analyse the literature to enable developments in knowledge to be implemented in the clinical setting (apply knowledge)
- Understand the theoretical concepts underlying management in the widest sense to enable effective use of resources (making judgement)
- Present cogent arguments for a chosen line of management based on analysis of the available evidence (communication skills)
- Identify learning needs and how to address these, to facilitate their own personal professional development (learning skills)
