Notes:
An overall maximum of 40 credits at level 7 is permitted across years one and two.

Students CANNOT take Introduction to the History of Philosophy A (PHIL08019) if they have already taken Introduction to the History of Philosophy (PHIL08018).

Notes:
Progression to Honours requires (1) an *average* of 50% across both the mandatory Philosophy courses standardly taken in the second year, Mind, Matter and Language (MML) and Knowledge and Reality (K&R) achieved at the first attempt, and (2) a minimum of 40% in each course (MML and K&R) achieved at the first attempt; also required is a mean mark of 50% or above in Psychology 2A and Psychology 2B (with a minimum of 40% achieved at the first attempt) and a mark of 40% or above in Data Analysis for Psychology in R 2 at the first attempt.

Students who meet the university requirements for graduation, but who fail to meet the BPS accredited degree requirements will be eligible for the award of the unaccredited BSc(Hons) Psychological Studies and Economics degree. For more details on accreditation see the Psychology handbook.

Notes:
Students returning to Year 4 from a year of study abroad who have not taken and passed courses equivalent to PSYL10168 Data Analysis for Psychology in R 3 and PSYL10174 Qualitative Methods in Psychology while abroad will be required to take one or both of these courses in Year 4.

A dissertation MUST be taken in Final Year in either Philosophy or Psychology. Where the dissertation is taken in Philosophy, students can either do a single long 8000 word dissertation, or two 5000 word essays (coursework dissertations). If the two 5000 word essays are selected students should choose two courses from Philosophy Honours Programme Collection (Philosophy Honours Year 4), as available.
Students who wish to be eligible for the British Psychological Society's Graduate Basis for Registration must take the Dissertation in Psychology.

Students who meet the university requirements for graduation, but who fail to meet the BPS accredited degree requirements will be eligible for the award of the unaccredited BSc(Hons) Psychological Studies and Philosophy degree. For more details on accreditation see the Psychology handbook.
