Summary | There are two contact hours per week, practising written and spoken Spanish: Spanish Language Paper 1 and Spanish Oral. Normally, Spanish 3 Language students will be taught together with Spanish 4 students in these classes but they will be assessed at third year level (SCQF level 9). Similarly, most students are also required to take a literature course of 2 hours per week for one semester. |

Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Speak and to write in Spanish with a good degree of grammatical accuracy and a broad palette of vocabulary
- Produce clear, complex written works in Spanish, which develop arguments critically and creatively using a clear structure for different audiences, also through a spontaneous written exercise.
- Understand spoken Spanish in its various accents and registers.
- Spontaneously analyse and discuss a range of issues including culture and current affairs in Spanish-speaking countries.
- Organise, summarise, and defend a line of reasoning within the framework of a structured and reasoned argument.
