Year 1 Academic year: 2025/26, Starting in: September

Notes:
The Programme Director must approve choice of courses. Students must consult with the current academic year's course information available on DRPS.

Students with no previous experience in philosophy will be required to take the 0 credit Phil Skills course in semester 1. This course is optional for all other students.

NOTE: This programme was available to study part-time (PT) prior to 2025/26. Continuing PT students who enrolled prior to 2025/26 must complete the same requirements as full-time students over two academic years. The dissertation must be completed during Year 2, after progression to the dissertation stage has been confirmed by the Board of Examiners. All course choices are subject to the approval of the Programme Director. Students are advised that course availability may vary across years subject to staffing arrangements.

Level 11 courses in the School of Philosophy, Psychology and Language Sciences

Notes:
Students are allowed to substitute up to 40 credits for courses at Level 11 from other Schools with the agreement of the Programme Director.

Seminar in Cognitive Modelling

Select between 0 and 20 credits of the following courses
Notes:
This course surveys contemporary topics in cognitive science through recent journal articles. It is recommended for interested students with a relevant technical background. Please consult the course DRPS page for prerequisites.
