Summary | This course is primarily studio based and will facilitate the development of an individual practice. Throughout the course, you will be required to reflect on your art practice in relation to wider contemporary and historic contexts. |
Course description |
Through self-initiated study, you will be encouraged to independently produce work and define an area of interest, conceptually and practically, in relation to current practice. You will extend your understanding of particular processes, methods and applications relevant to your work and begin to consolidate an integrated knowledge of your specialism.
A study plan will outline individual concerns and help establish working patterns to facilitate progress. You will continue to work in an increasingly independent manner with regular tutorial support. The course will encourage you to extend your practice and enable discussion through ongoing tutorials and critiques. Critical thinking and reflection will be developed further through a series of Project Space presentations.
You will test how artworks are installed, received and understood by collaborating with your peers across the School in the development of an externally facing exhibition and other group activities.
Invited artists, lectures, workshops and seminars will contribute to learning.
