| Summary | OWNED AND DELIVERED BY PARIS COLLEGE OF ART.
This course revolves around the post-production, completion and exhibition of a student's significant research-informed film art project as well as their reflection on practice. Students will build on creative exploration and filming in a previous course, bringing material together to resolve their project through various editing, sound design and colour grading processes leading to the final exhibition of their work. |
| Course description |
The course is owned and delivered by Paris College of Art following their 15-week semester and is primarily taught through small group tutorials and seminars.
This Thesis Project Resolution course supports students to bring together material and creative explorations carried out in a previous course to create a cohesive and audience ready film art exhibition or screening. Students will follow key milestones set in their initial project proposal which were developed through discussion with tutors to provide a structure and formative deadlines that shape and refine the final form of their work. Typically, these milestones might reflect film industry post-production processes such as an assembly, rough cut, fine cut and picture lock leading to potential creative engagement and collaborations in sound design, colour grading and visual effects. In conjunction with this post-production process, students will experiment with the exhibition format of their work and consider its audience context by conducting test screenings or mock exhibitions. Throughout the course, students will document and reflect on their artistic-research and practical processes which will form the basis for a final analysis and critical discussion of the project.
