Course description |
In this course, students will discuss and reflect on current topics from German culture, politics and society. The language skill that the course focuses on is oral communication. The students give a presentation each semester and prepare a handout about one of the topics of the semester, during which they introduce the focus of their reflection on the topic that they have chosen from the dossier.
They then lead a group discussion. Students practice their spoken German and enhance their debating skills during the discussion of their ideas and hypotheses while putting them into context.
For the presentation, they learn how and where to find information and how to evaluate their sources. Students will argue logically and draw objective conclusions at the end of the discussion. Both the presentation and the discussion are good preparation for the oral exam.
