SummaryAdvanced Language work, written and oral.
Course description A compulsory course for all Italian 3 students bearing 20 CREDITS and aimed to improve their overall linguistic
competence by strengthening fluency, grasp of idioms and stylistic awareness.
This course runs in conjunction with Language Paper 1, ELCI10019 and Italian 4 Oral , ELCI10017. It shares those courses activities in written and oral practice.
Students will normally be taught together with Italian 4 students, but they will be assessed differently, at the appropriate level.

Pre-requisites Students MUST have passed: Italian Language 2 (ELCI08004)

40%- Average of FOUR best marks in home written assignments.
20% Final Test Online (one essay, one translation)
10% Participation to course activities with individual and collaborative contribution.
15% - Listening Comprehension Test
15% - Oral Tasks ( 2 Presentations and 1 Role-Play)

Feedback Students will receive regular oral feedback on their spoken and written work in class. Written feedback will also be provided in detail on their coursework assignments and tests. Tutors will be happy to discuss results and feedback during their office hours or by appointment on students' request.

Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
  1. Demonstrate an overall proficient grasp of the Italian language and cultural refences equivalent to a C1 CEFR level.
  2. Read complex texts on general or specific topics and get an in-depth understanding
  3. Comprehend in detail specific information spoken at normal speed, and speak in Italian on prepared basis and impromptu.
  4. Write accurate and fluent texts in Italian, showing awareness of different styles and controlled use of organizational patterns and cohesive devices.
  5. Work effectively, both independently or as part of a team, and under a tutor's guidance.
