SummaryThis course surveys research topics in Quantum Informatics within the remit of the Centre for Doctoral Training in Quantum Informatics. Grouped by theme, supervisors will give introductions to their specialist research area, including academic and industrial guest speakers. Along the way, open challenges will be highlighted, that could become the topic of your research project. There will also be plenty of opportunity for questions and discussion. By taking notes and making short summaries, you will compile an overview of topics of interest in Quantum Informatics, and their interconnections.
Course description Students will gain an overview of the research topics in the remit of the Centre for Doctoral Training in Quantum Informatics, of their interconnections, of open challenges, and of the Centre¿s experts that could supervise projects in those areas. The content may vary according to the latest developments, but focus on the core topics underpinning Quantum Informatics. The course will take the form of two long-form seminars a week given by rotating speakers, followed by a discussion. Students will make brief summaries of each seminar, to be compiled into a final report overviewing what they have learnt of the geography of the research area that is Quantum Informatics.

  2. Explain how these topics are related to each other.
  3. Justify why these topics are relevant scientifically and/or societally.
  4. Point out which experts can supervise projects in which direction.
