The dissertation is expected to engage critically and analytically with relevant literature, building upon concepts and theory covered in taught elements of the degree. It should deploy a range of secondary (and in some cases primary) sources as well as appropriate data-analytic and bibliographic skills. The format of the dissertation can vary but will take one of the following forms:
1) health policy report (a critical review of a health policy using published and unpublished literature)
2) detailed literature review to address a relevant research question
3) research project addressing a relevant research question through either small scale collection of original data or secondary analysis of existing data
