Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
  1. Mandatory outcomes: (a) Understand the Law of Testate Succession and be able to explain the tax implications; (b) Draft testamentary documents and understand the tax implications of such documents; (c) Understand the Law of Intestate Succession and be able to explain the implications; (d) Draft Intestate documents; (e) Administer an executry; (f) Understand the law on Trusts, their uses and applications, and be able to explain their implications, including tax implications; (g) Understand the law on incapacity; (h) Understand the principles and practice of tax planning as it relates to Private Client in relation to the preparation of wills and deed of variation; (i) Has a developing awareness of the importance of technology in relation to private clients including online filing, online personal tax accounts and the process of making tax digital.
