80% Dissertation (10k word paper + 3k max discussion contextualizing the research within the field of Ecological Economics)
o 80% of the dissertation mark comes from the content
o 10% comes from the professionalism with which the student engaged with the research process (e.g. leading the project, being proactive, keeping their supervisor up to date, dealing with research process, finding training, initiating meetings, managing time, etc.)
o 10% comes from professionalism of presentation (as per a checklist)

Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Design a research project to answer a question of their choosing that is relevant to the field of Ecological Economics
- Implement an independent research project, taking the lead on all aspects of project delivery (e.g. time management, ethics, data management, data analysis, presentation)
- Present their research to an academic audience in the form of an academic journal article
- Contextualise their research in the wider field of Ecological Economics for an academic audience
- Communicate the implications of their research to a wider lay/policy audience using non-academic forms of communication (e.g. policy/research brief, podcast, white board animation, video short, infographic, etc.)
