Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
  1. Understand the significance of communicable disease as a public health issue both in the UK and internationally
  2. Describe the epidemiology of important communicable diseases in the UK and internationally
  3. Describe the principles of surveillance, investigation, control and prevention of communicable disease in the UK and internationally
  4. Outline the different methods available for the control of communicable diseases
  5. Apply the principles of investigating an outbreak of communicable disease, and outline the principles underlying vaccination and immunisation and the methods for monitoring and evaluating immunisation programmes.
