Summary | This independent area of study involves the undertaking of a major piece of research in the field of Sport and Recreation Management. It requires the student to apply the knowledge gained during previous theoretical and practical work in order to answer a specific question or problem. The project is characterised by a high degree of self-directed study, the ability to be critically analytical and demonstrate a deeper grasp of the conceptual issues. The project occupies one third of the Fourth Year programme. |

Learning Outcomes
By the end of this course students will be able to:
Undertake research work with a critical and intellectual awareness of the problems associated with research design.
Demonstrate a greater understanding of the relationships between concepts and research methodology.
Illustrate an exemplar relationship between a particular conceptual theme and the practice of sport and recreation management.
Demonstrate the skills of communication and argument when dealing with complies theoretical and practical presentations.
Produce a piece of work which contributes to professional knowledge and may serve as a basis for further research or study
