Emergency treatment for infection; Diagnosis and basic management of soft tissue infection, gas gangrene and other necrotising infections; Management of postoperative wound infection and graft complications; Apply a constant and integrated approach to critical analysis, evaluation and synthesis of new and complex ideas, information and issues; Excercise a high level of autonomy and initiative in professional activities at a level of independent surgical practice.

Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- A sound understanding of the principles of open vascular surgery and its limitations.
- A detailed knowledge of anatomic exposure required in contemporary vascular procedures.
- An expert opinion in the management of severe soft tissue infection, surgical site infections and septic graft complications in vascular patients.
- Advanced non-technical skills, decision making and reflective practice.
- A high level of autonomy and initiative in professional activities at a level of independent surgical practice.
