Students are able to choose from further optional courses available with the approval of the Programme Director. Students should consult the current academic year's course information on DRPS.

NOTE: For Guided Research in Linguistics and English Language Semester 2, students must take the 'Current issues in Language Evolution' seminar.

NOTE: This programme was available to study part-time (PT) prior to 2025/26. Continuing PT students who enrolled prior to 2025/26 must complete the same requirements as full-time students over two academic years. The dissertation must be completed during Year 2, after progression to the dissertation stage has been confirmed by the Board of Examiners. All course choices are subject to the approval of the supervisor. Students are advised that course availability may vary across years subject to staffing arrangements.
