In addition to the 120 course credits, a 60 credit dissertation will be completed after the coursework element of the programme. This will take place in the summer of Year 2. Formal progression to the dissertation will take place after the June examination board of Year 2.
Students must take the Philosophy MSc Dissertation (PHIL11001).
Note: It may be possible for students to switch to the Dissertation in Ancient Greek, Roman or Islamic Philosophy (PHIL11238) if they meet the listed prerequisites for this course. It may also be possible for students to switch to the Dissertation in Mind, Language & Embodied Cognition (PHIL11104) if they have the appropriate background.
In both instances, students must speak to their Programme Director to determine eligibility and seek approval for the transfer.
