Year 4 Academic year: 2024/25, Starting in: August

Notes:
- For progression to Year 4 students must -
Pass at least 80 credits a SCQF level 9 or above, and have an overall average of 40% or more for 120 credits of study taken in the year.

- Entry to Year 4 MEng -
Entry to Year 4 of the MEng programme normally requires an average of 55% in third year, at the first attempt. Those not achieving an average of 55% or above will be required to transfer to Year 4 of the BEng programme.

Chemical Engineering (MEng Hons) 4th Year options

Select between 10 and 30 credits of the following courses
Notes:
Optional courses in semester 1 are only available in Year 4.

No more than 30 credits of Optional Courses at SCQF level 10 (indicated by a 4 in the course title) may be taken over 4th and 5th year combined, i.e. 120 credits at SCQF level 11 (indicated by a 5 in the course title) must be taken over 4th and 5th year combined.

A maximum of 20 credits may be taken over 4th and 5th year combined from the list of Outside Options as detailed in the Year Guide. You may wish to consult your Student Adviser about your choice of options.

It cannot be guaranteed that all combinations of courses will be timetable compatible.
AND

Outside options (MEng Hons) 4th Year

Select between 0 and 20 credits of the following courses
Notes:
A maximum of 20 credits may be taken over 4th and 5th year combined from the list of Outside Options as detailed in the Year Guide. You may wish to consult your Student Adviser about your choice of options.

Year 5 Academic year: 2024/25, Starting in: August

Notes:
- University Progression and Graduation Rules -
In Years 3, 4 and 5 the University progression and graduation rules normally require full passes in 80 credits of courses with an overall average of 40% or more for the 120 credits of study taken in the relevant honours year.

The industrial placement/research project runs from June - December, the report is submitted in January.
