Management Development 2: Leadership and Practical Skills (P00999)? Credit Points : 10 ? SCQF Level : 11 ? Acronym : MSE-P-GIMBAMGT2 This course will present and critically analyse previous, current and new approaches to management development and management thinking with a special focus on leadership, practical management skills and performance management. Students will work with a set of globally relevant management techniques to learn how these can support the management process and affect organisational functioning. The course will refresh and update students' knowledge of the technology supporting the programme, and develop competence in using e-learning to a sophisticated level. The residential aspect of the course is designed to reinforce the cohort identity established in the first year residential course and maintained through subsequent team working exercises Entry Requirements? Upon completion of the course the students should be able to:- Demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge about leadership, practical management skills and performance management
- Demonstrate that they can apply and adapt the presented subjects, skills and techniques to a current situation or problem - Be able to chose appropriate techniques to support their daily work as managers - Demonstrate a sophisticated competence in using e-learning technologies Assessment Information
The course will be assessed through a combination of three group work assignments each accounting for 20% of the total mark and an individual essay accounting for 40% of the final mark
