Moral Psychology (U00164)

The material covers a wide range of issues in what has become known as moral psychology. These include issues of motivation, intention, strength and weakness of will, free will, moral development, self-deception, and conceptions of the self. Although the approach is, at base, philosophical, the course will draw on some relevant social psychology literature.

? Pre-requisites : Philosophy 2A (PP0033) or Philosophy 2B (PP0034)

Assessment will be by 2-hour examination in the June diet. Senior Honours students may opt to write a long essay (approximately 6000 words) in lieu of the final exam.
