Architectural History Work Placement (U00913)? Credit Points : 40 ? SCQF Level : 10 ? Acronym : ACE-3-AHWPlace This course is designed to give honours students experience of working for an organisation that requires skills and knowledge in architectural history so that they can gain experience and see the applicability of their skills and acquire experience of research. The students will carry out, for the host organisation, a defined task that will, in itself, be useful for both parties but will also identify and develop a research project to be submitted at a later date. The placement will take place on two days per week for the first semester, with the follow up work carrying forward into the second semester. Prohibited combinations : Students enrolled on this course in their third year are not permitted to take Independent Study (U00842) in the same year. ? Additional Class Information : The students are placed with an appropriate organisation for work experience and research. There are no scheduled class hours and formal contact teaching, although tutorials with the Placement tutor will be arranged at appropriate times. Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
The student will:
Gain knowledge and experience of the workings of an organisation active in the field of architectural history and will gain an insight into the applicability of their academic skills. Develop practical skills and abilities in the organisation and management of their project, and the communication of its progress and results. Develop analytical skills through the investigation, interpretation and evaluation of evidence that is required in the creation of the Work Placement report. Assessment Information
