This course builds on the study in Public Law of the relationship between law,government and the citizen in Scotland as a distinctive part of the United Kingdom.It concentrates on the protection of individual rights by Administrative Law and the law of Human Rights and Civil Liberties.

Entry Requirements

? Pre-requisites : Legal Reasoning and Legal System U02831 and Public Law of the UK and Scotland U02741. Passes in both of these course are not essential, provided that no more than one is failed and that it is being retaken.

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes

After successful completion of this course students will:-
(a)have knowledge and understanding of Administrative Law including the law of judicial review,of the Human Rights Act and of selected areas of civil liberties law
(b)have further developed critical skills and skills of legal research and communication both oral and in writing.
