Course description This course is a 10 credit point version of P00178, differing mainly in assessment. Covers the general context of business practice: entrepreneurialism, intellectual property, company creation, raising of funding, market assessment, product development, marketing, and relevant aspects of the contemporary cultural and philosophical study of such practices. The course is based on the study of online resources, with discussion in lecture/seminars, with aspects that are self-directed. Practical activity centres on what would be required for the development and commercial exploitation of a system, and the creation and presentation of a business plan treating the system as a prototype for a new project.
