Course description This course will give an introduction to human cognitive ageing. It will cover issues within cognitive ageing such as memory, executive function, patterns of healthy and pathological cognitive ageing and future directions for the field.

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
Methodological learning points:
&· To understand links between cognitive theory and experimental design.
&· To understand the differential nature of cognitive abilities.
&· To be able to evaluate cognitive ageing experiments and studies critically.

Subject-specific learning points:
&· To understand differential changes of cognitive function with age, including memory and executive function
&· To be able to relate normative to non-normative cognitive ageing research
