Course description | This course enables those who have an interest in clinical decision making and professional judgement to undertake a critical and reflexive analysis of an area of research in the field and thereby demonstrate a critical awareness of the evidence base underlying the chosen field of research enquiry.

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
Demonstrate the ability to set appropriate learning objectives in a creative manner
Demonstrate the ability to communicate and justify their formulation of a research project
Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of research techniques applicable to their chosen area
Plan and execute project of research, investigation or development

Assessment Information
The student will be required to submit a learning contract and evidence that the contract has been fulfilled. The critical account presented must demonstrate both the ability to be reflective and reflexive, that the current evidence in relation to judgements and decision making in nursing and health care have been appraised, and insights shared. These should be contained in a report of 4,000 - 5,000 words. Equivalent alternative forms of assessment will be accepted.
Assessments will be marked according to School/College policy and made available for moderation by the External Examiner.
